WHEN? Available in late 1982.

BY WHO? Created by Commodore Business Machines, Inc.

WHY? The older Commodore VIC-20 computer from 1981 was very popular, but pretty limited. The C-64 improved many features.

SO? More C-64 computers have been sold than any other single computer system, even to this day. That's about 17 million systems.
